Karnataka lifts weekend curfew; The ban on religious gathering and other groups will continue
Bangalore: The weekend curfew in Karnataka on Saturday and Sunday has been lifted from today. Night controls (from 10pm to 5am) will continue as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
The technical advisory council said the decision to lift the weekend curfew was due to a drop in the number of patients admitted to the hospital, despite an increase in Covid cases.
The decision was based on an expert report. “Subject to conditions. At present, the hospital rate is about 5 per cent. If it increases, we will reintroduce it.” Revenue Minister R Ashoka said this after a Covid review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
At the same time, the current ban on places of worship and other groups will continue. For more information, see the updated Government of Karnataka Order below.
