At Least 37 Christians Killed in Kaduna State alone in August
Nigeria: So far this month, there have been at least 37 Christians killed in Christian villages of Southern Kaduna State, Nigeria. These 37 people were killed in at least seven attacks throughout the south of the state by Fulani militants. There were five attacks that took place over a two-day period on 7 and 8 August in the Zangon Kataf district and Atakmawei community. During these attacks, 33 people were killed and hundreds of homes and properties were destroyed.
Then on August 17, four more people were killed in Kachia county. These four were killed while travelling from one village to another in the state. The driver of their vehicle was then taken captive by the militants. There have been no ransom demands yet for the missing driver.
These kinds of attacks take place regularly in Kaduna State. There has also been a major correlation between lockdowns enforced by the governor of Kaduna State for COVID and for violence. As these lockdowns continue, more Christians die and yet the governor of Kaduna State continues to defend the attackers. Please pray for the safety and security of Christians in Kaduna and in Nigeria as a whole.
